Friendly reminder: Don’t give up

Tore my left Achilles almost 4 years ago after the height of covid from playing a game of basketball when I was 24M. Like most of you I thought it was sprain and waited about 2 weeks before getting it checked out and then received the surgery. For those who were highly active before the injury, the first year is going to be rough getting back into somewhat normal everyday loading (and I’d be lying to you if I told you walking or just standing felt the same). After three years of consistent hard work and baby steps, I’m still at half of what I once was (partially due to aging as well) but for the first time in years I’ve been able to run a 10k and play basketball scrimmages. It wasn’t easy, but moving at the pace of your body and setting up personal wins will get you mentally confident to not give up. Whatever you do, don’t despair. You’ve got this and God bless
