1st Botox treatment

Hi everyone,

I just recently came across this subreddit and found it both encouraging and a little disheartening. I was specifically looking for posts that talk about Botox because I was terrified to get mine.

I’m very early pregnant so I couldn’t do anesthesia and oh my gosh those two injections were like no pain I’ve ever felt. I also couldn’t receive the usual units of 50-100 Botox so I’m hoping that 35 units will be enough to help me heal.

I’ve had my fissure for almost two years and was always able to mange with over the counter stuff. But in February it got so bad nothing helped anymore. And then it took me two months to even seek help and that was a horrible experience too because my doctors sucked. But I finally got a referral for a colorectal surgeon (didn’t like her either). Unfortunately nitroglycerin did nothing for me and somehow I always felt more pain after a sitzbath.

When I found out I’m pregnant I panicked because I knew this was only gonna get worse. Luckily I found another extremely compassionate colorectal surgeon. I told her I was taking miralax every single day, but that caused me to have up to 4 BM daily and caused more harm because of the constant irritation. She now prescribed me docusate sodium (which is non-habit forming) and has made more of a difference than miralax.

Anyway, I’m two days post Botox and already doing better. Just wanted to share and say I’m grateful I stumbled across this group!
