Harm reduction through one-on-one random chats
In 2019 during my last year of high school, me and a group of online friends got together and founded a chatting application...
Today, we have successfully scaled it to 100,000+ users, with 10,000+ unique users per week.
It's simple, it's a discord application that lets servers allow users to pair one on one with each other.
After participating in two Mental Health Hackathons in January, it got me thinking. How can individuals struggling with their mental health benefit from the distraction that one on one chats bring? How can I make a harm reduction resource that's accessible and engaging at the same time?
Introducing CarePair, a mobile app that works towards harm reduction through one on one chats. CarePair pairs semi-anonymous users together and provides a chatting experience that works towards creating a safe distraction.
