What are these in my betta tank?

This planted betta tank has been setup for almost a year and have never seen these before (especially in this case of thousands of them everywhere). I feed my betta from an auto feeder that drops out 4-6 pellets morning and night in which he will eat all of them or my shrimp will get the last couple.
