For those with dehumidifiers in their flats, do you really turn them on 24/7?

We got a Meaco Arete Two and the manual recommends to turn it on 24/7. I am just worried about the electricity costs.

Do you really turn yours on 24/7?

We live in a flat and even though I open the windows sometimes, the hygrometer (just the one bought from Amazon with a temperature gauge on top), always measures above 60 since September started.
