Why get rid of the department of education?

I dont get it at all. Why should we get rid of the only funding for public schools? Especially in rural areas where the population is low income and the only way to provide those students with an education is through federal funding?

Even ignoring the fact that mass numbers of children wont have access to free public education and how that can be considered unconstitutional. Huge populations of students can't afford to eat at home and the only food they get regular access to is through their school. Students need to be socialized and around other students, school. We want to fill jobs? Guess what, a lot of public schools (especially in rural areas) offer pre-graduated students the option to take trade classes and receive certifications. This includes jobs in mechanics and other trades depending on the area.

The only answer I can seem to come up with is to get rid of public (free) education as a whole. Therefore leaving a large majority of children uneducated.

Edit: here we go. 1.) Yes they DOE needs reformation to follow something closer to what other countries ABOVE us in education does so we can improve. No the first step is not abolishing it without a plan in place.

2.) States handle their own curriculum and a large portion of funding. So it's not because of curriculum.
