Not seeing the value in getting an Audi S5 instead of Lexus ES

Fwiw, I currently reside in Dallas. What I like about the Lexus is the comfort, pickup, and smoothness of the ride. Feels like luxury. The main thing I don't like is that it sucks around corners. I have to slow down quite a bit in order to take a sharp turn.

I'm about to buy a car for myself and I was debating getting a 2012 Lexus ES 350 with 30k miles on it for $20,000, or instead getting a brand new Audi S5 sportback for $70,000.

The Audi is a car I've been a fan of for a very long time. I love the way it looks, I love the interior, the seats, the hatchback feature since it makes it easier to store my bike, etc. I remember when I test drove the S4 maybe 10 years ago, the sales guy took me on very tight and curvy road which was a lot of fun to drive on since the Audi could handle it well. I could go really fast into those corners.

The only problem is, I took the S5 for a test drive and was underwhelmed. The roads in Dallas are fairly wide, straight, and boring, and with the Audi I only really felt any improvement in the driving experience when taking very sharp corners and accelerating from 0-60+.

For a car that would cost me $50,000 more along with premium gas and higher insurance costs, I'm not seeing the value. Is it more of a flex rather than finding it of any practical use? Should I try test driving it at a dealership where they take me through a more interesting road, or is that ultimately pointless since most roads just aren't like that? I want to get this car so I'm looking for reasons. Thanks
