Rodeo in May?

My partner and I are coming to Austin in May and would love to see a rodeo, but after a little research I’m still not sure really what to expect event wise, price wise, location wise, timing wise etc. Any suggestions or advice welcome! Is there not much scheduled for May yet? Is there a “season”?
