Neoboomerism

So I was reading a thread on this very subreddit about an older woman saying the youngins basically “spend too much on coffee”. Many people pointed out she was technically Gen Xer at 56 years old, while others argued being a boomer is more about attitude than actual generational placement.

I think we can all agree that “boomerism” is more about entitlement, hypocritical delusions about self-sufficiency, and an overall lack of empathy combined with a judgmental view of others. And yet, I can’t discount that “boomer” is technically a term about what generation one belongs to and so…. I propose a solution:

Boomers are still boomers, but people who act like boomers while being technically a different generation are “Neoboomers.” This preserves Boomer as a technical term, while recognizing that some among younger generations can also choose to be unrepentant scumbags.
