Flight cancelled due to weather.

Hello All,

Chase Sapphire preferred holder here and my ticket was purchased through CS.

I'm currently in my flight and just received notification from Delta saying my next flight was cancelled due to weather.

I rebooked my flight for Thursday since there were none available for tomorrow. Delta support just told me that uncontrolled cancels are not accommodated by them(which is fine).

I have never used CS flight cancel insurance perks before. I wanted to ask the community on how this usually works and what documentation would I need? Do I need to call them when I land to let them know of the situation or is this a reimbursement kind of situation?

Are there things they would not cover? Like over priced hotel or food?
