Extended warranty-Mopar Max Care vs Assurant Premium
Just like the title says, trying to decide between these two extended warranties. Proud owner of a brand new 2025 Durango R/T, my very first new car ever. Yay.
Disregarding price and coverage length because they’ve offered me the same for both of them, I’m wondering which I should go for. They both do seem to cover the same things.
The Assurant warranty says I have to go to the dealer that sold me the car if I’m within 40 miles. I am but unfortunately, that is not the closest dealer to my house. So that could be inconvenient. This warranty does say if I’m outside of 40 miles I can go to any ASE certified mechanic. This would be especially handy if I was on a road trip and there were no Dodge dealers nearby.
The Mopar warranty allows me to go to any Dodge dealer, but if I break down on a road trip and there’s no Dodge dealers nearby, I might be screwed? They both offer towing, but only up to $100. That’s not gonna do much if you’re 300 miles from a Dodge dealer.
Also, I’m assuming this is the same Assurant that you can purchase warranties on electronics from Amazon and such. If so, they have actually been pretty great to deal with, at least on small things.
