Buyer’s Friend Tried To Negotiate After Loading Item
Sold a large storage building to an out of state buyer. I had been conversing with them through calls and texts for a couple of weeks prior to pickup. The building had some floor damage which I hadn’t noticed when I posted the ad but made sure to disclose and send pics to the buyer to make them aware as they were taking some risk driving so far for pickup (and it’s the right thing to do obviously). After seeing the pics they asked if I would drop the price some to account for repairs, I agreed on the number they suggested and all seemed well. Fast forward to pickup day and the buyer sent a friend with a large enough trailer to get the building. Friend and I work on getting the building loaded for a solid hour and after we got it loaded and secured, friend said that the floor damage was going to cost more to repair than what buyer had agreed to deduct off the asking price already. After some awkward conversation friend ended up leaving in a huff as if it was their money being spent. Weird situation but after years of using this selling platform I’m honestly not even surprised anymore.
