Need help to start fishing

Hi, I am 15 years old and I need help to start fishing. Lately, I've been biking to rivers and lakes to go fishing around Stockholm, where I live. My only past experience with fishing is fishing with my father, occasionally. This week, I bought a bunch of fishing gear I needed and now have everything I need and more. The only problem is that I lack in knowledge and experience.

I've tried different things when setting up my rod and when fishing. But I kept messing up when setting up a float fishing line and float fishing itself, so I have resided to watching YouTube videos I barely grasped. But the only useful information I got out of videos were how to tie simple knots. So, using that information, I've learned to set up a simple line; weight at the end of the line with a hook and bait further up the line. This way of setting up my line was way faster and easier for me.

There is a small river and lake around 6km (or around 3.5 miles) away from my house where I have been fishing at noon and around evening time. I have been barely catching fish, only about 1 or 3 medium sized fish every time I go fishing, which last anywhere from 3 hours to 5 hours. I'd dig up worms and use that as bait which seems to be working. The fish I'd catch are Ide or Pearch, but I am not entirely sure.

I've read the rules and laws surrounding fishing in my local area, so I am aware of what's allowed and not, and what to do in different scenarios.

I just need to fully learn how to fish and the basic knowledge of fishing in general, like how to properly set up a rod, how to know when a fish is on your line, what to do when a fish is on your line, etc. If you can help me in any way, it would be very helpful! I've been rotting at home all the time and hope to learn fishing and become more active outside.
