Spaced Repetition & Study Area Advice
What is the best way to apply spaced repetition? I’ve finished the TTP course and are currently in revision mode.
I’ve gone through (as in reviewed) 12 of the total 41 chapters of TTP. The approach I took:
- Review Must Knows
- Elaborate on ideas that I’m unable to envision/grasp by writing down examples.
- Going through the easy to hard level tests for each chapter and building my error log alongside it.
- Completing reinforcement tests and sometimes creating custom tests.
- I also try to do a 10 random question drill (random from any chapter and difficulty) or more everyday when I’m taking a break from chapters that I’ve planned to focus on. This is using the Manhattan prep app.
I planned to review the chapters I’ve covered each month in the last week of each month. Like the whole last week I plan to just focus on going through a fire drill of a bunch of questions. Perhaps that’s too many days? Any advice here?
I’m wondering having gone through the 12 chapters so far, how can I go about reviewing those chapters in way that I’m strengthening my weak areas and not just purely skimming through revision or not optimizing my review week. What is the best way to review at the end of each month?
I was planning on doing the revision test the TTP provides with the key chapters where you need to score a minimum of 75% and above as well as creating custom tests. But is there anything else I can do? I feel like if I go through my error log (which is quite long) I’ll overwhelm/overload my brain with information. What is the most effective approach of revision of a compiled version chapters?
What do you do when you get bored of your study area?
I usually zone out of my usual study surroundings. But sometimes I get bored and try to sit in other areas of my house but I feel like I’m locked inside of the house. I’ve tried coffee shops but they are too loud and distracting. I have yet to try Libraries but wanted advice on alternatives? How do you make your space exciting?
