I want to dye my hair red and black!

I want to dye my hair red and black, in a scene/emo style, my hair is currently box dyed black and I’m not sure how to dye my hair so my roots (blonde) don’t ruin it by growing our and it’s easy to re-dye by myself, any tips or reference pictures I can show to my hairdresser?
