Photography experience with the V3

Here's a version with fewer changes to maintain the personal touch:

I read a few reviews and checked some sample images before getting the V3, but my experience turned out very different from what's out there. Here's my take, hoping to help others looking for real-life info.

I've been a Samsung user for the last decade, doing a lot of photography as a hobby. I decided to replace my almost brand new, fully functional Galaxy S22 with newer models, hoping to improve my photography experience.

I compared the V3 with the S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro, and Honor Magic 7 Pro, focusing on photography but also considering other aspects.

On paper, the V3 might be the "worst" of the bunch, but this is one of those rare instances where 1+1=3.

Daytime: Pictures are very good, almost like a system camera. The tele camera loses quality fast when you zoom in, but the main camera shines at 2x zoom, giving you a versatile lens set as you carry a wide angle, tight and portrait primes in your pocket.

Picture Profiles: They're better than expected. Familiar with Fujifilm simulations, I was pleased with the V3's options. Vibrant makes colors pop without overdoing it, Authentic adds a moody touch with vignetting, and Standard is well-balanced for post-edits. I keep HDR off most of the time as it lifts shadows too much. Only three options looked limiting at first but they have distinct characters where you can call out which would produce what type of result before even looking at the screen.

Portraits: Impressive, especially black and white, with organic tones and subtle digital sharpening. The artificial depth effect is excellent.

Drawbacks: Selfies are overly processed, looking nothing like me. My old Galaxy took more authentic selfies.

Post-Processing: A game changer for me. The large screen lets me crop and adjust on the fly, something I previously needed a bigger device for.

Unique Advantage: Folding the device at 90 degrees lets you take pictures from unique angles, like overhead or ground level, a feature I missed with regular phones.

All in all, while it has limitations, the folding screen's benefits far outweigh them, making the V3 a worthy upgrade for mobile photography.
