Installed Spare Tire
Ordered a spare tire carrier from a dealer in Florida as none of the dealers around me could get it in stock and also wanted over 2x what I ended up paying to have it shipped to my door (in alberta!) Got it installed pretty quickly, bit of a tight squeeze to get the nut to line up with the hole in the floor with the hitch in the way but a bit of persuasion got it in. Went to put the spare under and as I was turning it up into place I noticed it wasn't going all the way up and I realized somehow it was too big even having the factory hitch installed. The two limiting factors were the half inch of tubing on the back of the hitch that stuck out past the frame and a bolt through the rear axle that holds the diff in place. Obviously couldn't do anything about the bolt but I took a sawzall to the back side of the hitch and then hit it with some paint to help prevent some rust and was able to JUST fit the tire in with literally 0mm to spare. Just posting this as a warning to anybody with the Hyundai hitch installed in Canada looking to put a full size spare under the car, it will be a very tight squeeze and may take some minor modifications but it will fit up there. Specs on the tire are as follows: 245 60 R18 Hercules Terra Trac (cheapest tire I could find, wasn't interested in dropping 500 on a tire I hope to never have to use lol)
