Are the OGs of DHH really OGs?
A comment on recent Cariappa's ig post got me thinking this, where a guy asked who's really to be considered an OG? Then, i thought someone who's been there since the inception, has made major contribution to the community or scene and paved the way for others. And Rohan had clips of like divine, raftaar and such. But that got me thinking that technically they can be considered OGs but they don't have the discography to back that.
Because when the legacy of a rapper is measured or analysed, then the best way to gauge it is to by look at his discography, specially his albums not singles, the classics yk.
Divine, Raftaar started rapping way back and still their debut albums got released around 2018-19. Kohinoor is a gem but Raftaar's Zero to Infinity doesn't even feel like a full fledged album.
With that sense, Seedhe Maut's discography, album run is way better. Bayaan came around 2018 too and then Nayaab got released later. And the insane thing is both of them feel conceptual and seems like they are meant to enhance a discography and not randomly made.
P.S.: I intent no disrespect to anybody. And I'm saying these based on their Spotify and Google, if they have albums released before that just on yt or cds, i have no knowledge of that.
