As a journal writer, do you consider yourself more self aware?

Lately I noticed that I am more aware of my feelings and better than my social circle (to my knowledge almost none of my friends journal) at maintaining my (especially negative) emotions and thoughts. Of course I’m not bragging or anything but I just noticed it. I think it’s because I dump all of my intrusive thoughts into my journal and address the negativity. I don’t know if I put it correctly…

Anyone else?
