Disappointed with Demi and Ollie

I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with how these two turned out, I guess I really fell for the edit and let myself root for them as a couple.

From the beginning the entire internet agreed Ollie wasn’t attracted to Demi and that the relationship wouldn’t last. On the show I think he really sold a love story, he said repeatedly how he was in love with her and she was the perfect girl for him. You could tell how much Demi was into him.

After the conversation Ollie had with her dad I really wanted to believe it, I wanted the internet to be wrong. Maybe because I’m also a slightly chubby woman and it bothered me how everyone wrote Demi off on her looks (really on her weight) when Ollie isn’t even all that (he’s just tall).

I think Ollie genuinely liked Demi as a person but mostly faked the affection so he wouldn’t come off as a villain on TV. Demi practically admitted that when the cameras weren’t rolling he basically ghosted her, and it sounds like there was little to no contact after the wedding. I know what it’s like to be in love, specially in the early days, you talk to each other all the time, constantly. If a man wants you he will make the time and go above and beyond to see you.

Finding out that he ended up with sharlotte was another blow. It’s a reminder that in the real world love is not blind, and while many men claim not to care about looks, physical preferences are almost always impossible to overcome.
