How do I not get scammed by admission consultants?

[Mods please do not block this I'm not asking for names I'm asking for a way to avoid scams]

I was thinking of getting a consultant to help with the essays part. There's A LOT of options online and really don't know how to tell which ones are really good and which ones are using fake reviews. Since I'll be dropping big bucks I want to find the ideal help, I don't personally know people around me who used good MBA consultants and I feel like I'm working with the black market lol.

BG: 24F, international, top school in my country but really small internationally for undergrad, MBB consultant, targeting 720 GMAT focus, applying to M7 class of 2028.
