Who are some artists who called it quits way too soon for you?

I had a flashback this morning of this Icelandic alt-pop group named aYia who I hadn’t checked in on since their haunting debut back in 2018, and was crushed to find out that they hadn’t released anything since, and their last bit of activity on social media seems to have been back in 2020. Who are some bands or solo artists who just pulled your entire being in, and next thing you knew, they weren’t making music anymore? How’d you come across them? What specifically made them such a special listen? I remember discovering aYia through KEXP’s live performance uploads on YouTube, and everything from the music to the energy to the whole atmosphere was just enrapturing.
