Mavs Reddit is melting down but the situation does pose an interesting question for the Spurs.

Mavs Reddit is rightly distraught about the Luka trade. Many of them are protesting by canceling their Mavs TV deal and/or claiming to forgo the NBA altogether. For a certain segment of the fan base, the betrayal is too much. Maybe that dies down with time or if AD gives the Mavs a few good seasons.

For the life of me, however, I would never quit on the Spurs. I’m legit spurs till I die. The front office may do some dumb shit I don’t agree with but they’re my team. We’ve been fortunate to have good ownership but even if they sold out and moved the club to Austin, I’d still ride with the spurs.

When we got Wemby, we also got a lot of new fans who aren’t necessarily spurs fans. They’re Wemby fans. I suspect many of these people would turn into fair weather fans as well if Wemby asked out. Just baffles me that people can support the player and not the team. Maybe that’s because I’m from San Antonio and the spurs are integral to the city’s identity as much as anything else.
