Why is nowhere hiring??

A little bit of a vent but I have been trying to find a part-time job in my area (Sackville, Bedford) since June but even though everywhere is “desperately hiring” no one is even answering applications. I mean, I am graduating highschool, have mountains of volunteer and work experience, as well as many certifications like WHMIS and Food Handlers, and I have not been able to get any responses besides the occasional “Thank you for you interest but unfortunately you won’t be proceeding.” And honestly I don’t get it, I am in desperate need of money and I just want to know what else could they possibly want?? It’s retail jobs! Do I need a masters in business to work as a cashier?? I really desperately need money for when I go to Uni and honestly I don’t know what I am doing wrong. People keep saying “Just keep trying you’ll get an answer eventually” but it’s becoming a pain in the ass, its the same process, apply whenever I can during my free time, scour indeed and linkdin for jobs, then get no responses. I wish jobs would at least tell me why they said no so I can fix it for the future.
