Anyone Else Give Their OCs 'Happy' AUs Out of Guilt?

This might be an oddly specific question, but for those who have OCs with negative backstories or tragic events in their stories, do you ever feel guilty for putting them through so much?

Do you also end up creating AUs where 'nothing bad happens,' 'everyone is just an actor,' or something similar?

I also sometimes make AU's where my ocs are in a certain franchise and it's just all fluff to 'give them a break' from everything😭
