Stopping injections and Starting Phentermine
Hey everyone! Since last year I was able to lose about 45 pounds from eating in a keto diet, strength training and counting my macros (specifically protein). I decided that I would stop doing keto, as it genuinely made me miserable and affected my mental health, from about February until beginning of May of this year. Everything else stayed the same, I was just as active as I was before and I was counting my macros, I just wasn't doing keto just low carb. I didn't lose any weight, I gained 5lbs. So I found new PCP that was also an obesity specialist and she got me on Zepbound injections. I was able to lose the last 15lbs from May until September, but I no longer can afford the injections as I was paying out of pocket (with the savings card so $550 a month). When I spoke with my doctor a few weeks ago, she prescribed me Bupropion, 150mg and Topiramate, 25mg and I've been taking those for about 3 weeks. I do feel a lot of mental clarity on the Bupropion, my doctor thinks my anxiety could be another factor in my weight gain or resistance to weight loss so that's another reason she put on the Bupropion. Anyways, she spoke about next time I see her starting Phentermine. I've heard HORROR stories about phentermine and tbh, I'm really nervous. I've heard that it's addictive and that people gain all the weight back and it will make me not want to eat for a week and that I won't be able to sleep. But I've also heard good things about Phentermine in conjunction with the Bupropion. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I've also heard some things about cycling? where you don't take the Phentermine every day, maybe 3-4 times a weeks so it doesn't damage my metabolism? Any advise or experience here would help please!!
