What is considered "early"?

My pain mgt doctor has never asked for a pill count and all UAs have been great for 1 to 2 years. He has written me a rx for 10mg percocet however we have a verbal agreement that I take 1.5 at a time and he never adjusted my amount... Meaning he knows I will not have enough each month and he expects me to run out 5 to 7 days early. I'd rather have some relier than nothing so I just suffer a week but last month, he offered me to pick up 2 days early. This month, he wrote do not fill until Thursday (day 31). If I were to call asking him to pick it up tomorrow (day 28), is this still considered requesting an early fill? I don't want to cause any trouble but I physically can hardly walk AT ALL without it and I think they only reason he did it last time is bc I happened to be in the office on day 28 for my appt. This time, I don't see him for quite a while. Also, if it matters, I had an epidural on January 30 which did nothing/ kinda made it worse it seems 😢
