Hosea bails you out of jail

I didnt know this but I had a 1500 bounty in st denis and somehow I got arrested instead of killed, didn't even know that was possible. Anyways a cutscene played with hosea bringing two bottles into the police station then Arthur walking out with him. Arthur thanks him then hosea gets on his horse and rides off.

I got on my horse and rode next to him figured we'd go to camp together but decided to see what would happen if I shot somebody while with hosea. The law started fighting us and hosea and I were fighting together it was epic!

However while trying to escape the "red zone" hosea just despawned and I was left to fight the law alone.

I didnt know this was possible has anyone else done this?
