(A Very Late) What I Wore in January

Pics 1-2: Painted a couple days before the new year and ended 2024 with a gnarly break on my thumb on NYE 😭. Very much how the year went for me. Didn’t take this off until a few days into the new year, so I think it counts as the first manicure of 2025. Pics are before the break. -Base: Essie Hard to Resist Strengthener (2 coats) -Thumb, index, middle, & pinkie: Emerald City by Holo Taco (2 coats) -Ring finger: Miss Fire by Holo Taco (2 coats) -Top coat: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

Pics 3-6: First manicure I painted in 2025, started with a layer of builder gel (since my nails had obviously reached the length where they needed the extra strength) and a full cover nail tip to disguise the break. Indoor & outdoor pics taken a couple days apart. This polish is soooo much prettier than the photos I saw online and I don’t understand why so many people hated it! -Base 1: Modelones Builder Gel (clear) -Base 2: Holo Taco Long Lasting Base -Topaz Tears by Holo Taco (2 coats) -Top Coat 1: Essie No Chips Ahead -Top Coat 2: Seche Vite Dry Fast

Pics 7-10: My first foray into indie polish and PPU! I’ve loved Holo Taco for a while now and had thought that was indie, but I’ve since learned that it’s actually considered boutique polish because it’s not hand poured. Anyway, these November PPU polishes only arrived at the end of December because ya girl is Canadian and we had a massive Canada Post strike. Better late than never, and I’m loving these polishes so far! -Base 1: Modelones Builder Gel (clear) -Base 2: HT LLB -Top Coat 1: Essie No Chips Ahead -Top Coat 2: Seche Vite Dry Fast Left Hand: -Thumb, index, middle, & pinkie: Kaleidoscope by Baroness X (PPU 11/24, magnetic, 2 coats). Successfully magnetized thumb, index, & middle with cat eye, unsuccessfully magnetized pinkie because I tried to paint it with the magnet under my finger instead of over. -Ring finger: Dinglehopper by Monarch Lacquer (PPU 11/24, thermal, 2 coats). Purple is cold, turquoise/teal is warm as demonstrated by running my very cold hands under warm water in some pics lol. Right Hand -Thumb, index, middle, & pinkie: Dinglehopper -Ring finger: Kaleidoscope (unsuccessfully magnetized lol)

Pics 11-13: Last one, and for the first time I used non-acetone polish remover to take off the colour and leave the builder gel alone underneath. It worked pretty well! -Base 1: Modelones Builder Gel (clear) -Base 2: HT LLB -Thumb, middle, & pinkie: Autumn Glory Barbie by Lemming Lacquer (PPU 11/24, 2 coats). -Index & ringer fingers: Blood Moon by Colores De Carol (PPU 12/24, 2 coats).
