Spinning mops vs roller? Need edge mopping. Buy now or wait with the new CES announcements?
I have an 1100 sqft apartment, 70% vinyl flooring, 10% tile (bathrooms) and 20% rug (area rugs, low/medium pile) and am in the market for a robot mop/vac.
I started researching right when vacuum wars did its Eufy S1 Pro review, and it seemed based on that review that the roller mop was far superior to the spinning ones, and it was #1 on their list. However, the lack of being able to mop to the edge would annoy me too much - as much as is possible I don't want to do manual mopping after the robot is done. Then the various models with the spinning mops that extended overtook it in the rankings, so I was probably going to go with a Qrevo curv or slim.
Of course now CES just happened and I see various "extending roller mop" ones and am wondering if I should wait for those. But also - based on history any idea how long before the prices on the current flagships drop due to the CES announcements?
So anyway - if you were to buy right now, given an 1100sqft apt, 80% hard flooring 20% rug. No pets, no women/long hair, and a strong desire for the robot to be able to mop close to the edges of things (even in the bathroom, like up against the base of the toilets and tub for example) - what would people recommend?
