Low ELO Shen struggle

Hi everyone! I have started an only shen account because I really like the idea of the champion. I’m really low elo b4 and so far my main struggle is that I can’t compete with any of the hyper tank/carry opponents. Ilaoi for example or Morde. I will always loose lane even though I know with shen you always loose lane and the point is to help win other lanes. But as you can guess the problem is that in mid game I’m against a opponent that has double my cs and more gold than I. If my team can coordinate then we can win fights and probably the game. If not then it’s a lost cause almost always. Any general macro strategies that can help me improve??
