Why don't the contestants ask questions that actually matter?

All they ask about is the other person's age, job, impressions of them, why they were picked, and just statements about how nice paradise is.

Where are the questions about what their interests are? What their favorite food is? Are they religious? Do they want kids? What is their relationship with their parents? Where do they see themselves in 5, 10, 20 years?

I feel like it's hard to ship couples bc I barely know anything about them besides the superficial things. When they finally get time to have a meeting/conversation, it seems wasted.
