How to deal with sympathetic activation

I've been doing the primal Trust program and learning about nervous system regulation. I've noticed my tendency to get activated quickly, not knowing what to do with all the frenetic energy, and then collapse. I know it's about orienting and resourcing which I've been doing. I know it's about cultivating inner safety and expanding my capacity to feel tough emotions. Just wondering if anyone has any specific exercises that have helped them?
