Enormous Utilities bills after 1y5m

In July 2023 we cancelled our rental agreement in Zurich city, for the apartment where we lived 1 year and 2 months. In January 2025 we received an invoice amouting to approx. 1,500 CHF representing utilities (nebenkosten- heating, water etc). This amount seems enormous and we dont understand why this large amount to be paid in addition to what was already paid. As a side note, meanwhile, we moved out of Switzerland.

Have you encountered such situation with such high amount invoices issued after such a long period of time? What approach should we have? Could we challenge this amount?
