Another TBI gave me back my personality, ever heard of this?
Like the title says... I'm looking for info.
(Edit: if you don't know what to say, please upvote so more people see and get the chance to respond.)
Any type of info is welcome. I'm particularly looking for other people's experiences like how you find them in video format—story is told and medical background and theories are given, sometimes with doctors getting involved, sometimes reactions, sometimes just a life story.
Personal experiences are also very welcome, as well as tips, links & tricks on finding info—as this time my TBI wasn't taken seriously either and ended me up homeless and I'll need to seriously advocate for myself in a toxic environment & culture.
A little background info:
About 9 months ago I got a hit to the head on a place I've never had one before and it apparently helped reconnect a part of my brain that's been offline for about 25 years. Been able to trace it back to an event when I was about 7 (seven years old), could tell "something is wrong with me" when I was 8-9, besides suddenly getting deaf (HoH). It's never been recognized, not even the HoH (because the problem wasn't my ears?).
Of course I have new symptoms from this TBI and they're nothing to sneeze at, but I got my ability to reason and for critical thinking back (amongst other things); my brain can finally "connect the dots" allowing me to *tell* what's wrong. And that's FAR more powerful than the troubles I gained.
If you're into personality types, I'm (now, again!) an INTP who's Ti (thinking) wasn't working and had to do everything with Ne (intuition); in a "just throwing stuff at the wall and see what sticks" way. When I tested and researched about 10-15 years ago my personality was all over the place, and it wasn't because of trauma, stress or PTSD—I've already considered those and filtered them out.
If you're interested in more info please ask.
Even if you don't respond: good luck in life!
