Just finished watching the show—it was brilliant! Do you think there’ll be a second series?

Bianca had to die, though, because even if she had killed the Jackal, MI6 would have killed her anyway. It’s harsh to say, but it’s the truth. I also think the Jackal is a flawed and complex character. That scene when he killed the old couple in the caravan was grim to watch, but it was also almost sad. Watching the Jackal cry and scream in anger because he didn’t want to do it was heartbreaking; it showed his emotions in such a raw way.

Hopefully, he’ll find his wife. She’s such a lovely and sweet character that I can’t help but feel sorry for her. I also hope they delve more into his past—his parents, his upbringing. When he killed Bianca, the way he looked at her made it seem like he was extremely sorry. I can’t help but feel for her, her husband, and her daughter.

This show is an amazing exploration of the human condition. Another thing: I felt sorry for UDC and his boyfriend (or husband). It’s such a sad reality that he died. I’d also like to know what happened to the other sniper who worked with the Jackal when he was in the British Special Forces in Afghanistan—I wonder if he killed him too.

Overall, this show was extremely emotional, heartbreaking, dramatic, and filled with complex, layered characters. It’s the first show I’ve seen that gets life just right—especially life in the world of espionage and crime. Unlike the James Bond films (even Craig’s), this show is gritty, harsh, and realistic, rather than being some sort of fairytale. It portrays espionage and crime in a way that’s horrifying yet believable. If I had to rate it, I’d give it 100 out of 100. It truly deserves all the awards for its realism.

Even if directors like Christopher Nolan or David Fincher had made it, the result would likely be the same. I also love how the show depicts the Jackal’s love for his wife and son—it humanises him. It’s touching to see how often he thinks about them and how much they love each other. That’s true love.
