Using VPN to geo-target posts?

I have a very niche page that’s based on local businesses in the UK. It does quite well but I tried posting some content for other countries and they bombed. I know that Tik Tok posts locally first and it will spread wider based on how it does locally.

I want to start incorporating other countries, but my current audience is completely UK based. If I were to get a VPN and set my location to a US town, would my post be sent out to users in that town instead?

How long would I need to keep the VPN on for? Only while I post the tik tok, or does it have to stay on for as long as I want it to circulate in that local area?
