Twitter account was hacked and help ticket did nothing

I submitted a ticket via their support thing and received an email back saying "We’ve investigated your report and it seems like you still have control of your account." I do not have control of my account as I got emails this morning saying my password had been changed and 2FA added (which I didn't do). Now when I try to change the password of my account I can't as I need the 2FA code. So frustrating - had my account for 7 years no so really would like to get back in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
