How often do you drive your teen around?

My wife and I could use some advice. Our teenage daughter has been asking us to drive her around pretty much every night - seeing friends, the gym, parties etc. When we're working from home she's also started asking us to drive her to college (and pick up) when she has a late start or early finish, which is really unfair as we both have full time stressful jobs.

We get that it’s part of being a parent, and we want to support her, but it’s starting to feel like we're her personal chauffeur or Uber driver!

We’ve tried encouraging her to plan ahead to give us notice, but she then guilt trips us saying all her friends parents do it so why can't we. Public transport is a no most of the time where we live as it's pretty rural.

We’re also trying to figure out where to draw the line so it’s fair for everyone but doesn’t make us seem unsupportive.

She is learning to drive but that is likely to be 6 months.

How do you handle this sort of thing with your own kids? How often do you end up driving them around? Are we being unreasonable thinking this shouldn’t be an every-night thing?

Would love to hear how others manage this classic cliche of taxi mum and dad!
