Cat groomers in the valley. (Please read body before commenting.)
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew of any cat groomers in the area? I'm looking to get a sanitary shave for one of my cats (pictured.) I used to take him to Earthwise but as far as I know they don't have a cat groomer anymore (they haven't for a while, I just haven't heard of they recently hired another or not) I would personally prefer to not take him to PetSmart or Petco. Hoping to find somewhere that is a fairly low stress environment (heck if anyone knows someone who does home grooms that would be fantastic, but not required.) Thank you in advance!
Note: yes my cat (Jake) has a scar on his face. It's a long story. But the short version is that he has feline herpes virus (quite common in cats who are feral and/or have been in a shelter environment. Jake was born feral so that is likely where his came from.) But he went misdiagnosed for a long time till we switched vets and they properly diagnosed him. The scar is where he used to get his break outs, but he's been breakout free for a few years now. He also doesn't have any teeth due to stomatitis. (For those curious, that's when an animal (in this case a cat) essentially developes an allergy to the biofilm in their mouth. For cats it most commonly occurs when they already have immune system issues (for Jake that would most likely be his herpes.) But it causes inflammation in the mouth due to the immune system's reaction to the biofilm. Removing the teeth removes a large chunk of the biofilm, so it at least helps if not solves the problem. A lot of cats only need their back teeth removed, but in Jake's case he needed a full extraction.) But anyway, that's why he looks the way that he does. Thank you for reading 😊.
