Inner Circle and UTM

Forgive me for the possible dumb question because I read ACOTAR series in like two weeks, so I probably just can’t remember, but I was trying to remember last night what did the Inner Circle do while Rhys was UTM?

I know he protected Velaris but… did the IC know he was alive? They just stayed put? I can’t imagine they’d just be like “yeah ok sounds good” if he told them to, especially as seeing how defied him in ACOWAR, I remember vaguely mention of Cassian freaking out, but they knew what he was doing?
