(spoilers main) Why don't the Targaryen's have more Valyrian relics?

Swords and dragons are awesome, but we've never heard of any books/scrolls or other artifacts they brought over such as dragon horns. Even glass candles seem to be something the citadel brought themselves before the doom.

Should GRRM have included more Valyrian artifacts?
