Do you choose racials over aesthetics?

I am looking to level a warrior to 60 for the first time in classic (anniversary servers), and have done my research. I'll be going Horde, but it's just the same on Alliance I believe: if you are not Orc or Human, you're giving up a significant advantage due to the weapon skill racials (among other things, especially on Orc).

That said, I think the aesthetic of an undead warrior is S-tier. Beyond awesome looking. A personal thing, of course, but nonetheless my preference.

But I can't stop wondering if I'll get to some point later where I will regret choosing what I liked over what was optimal. And as such, here I am, asking for the opinion of others who may have had the same question.

Perhaps things change when we advance to TBC and then this doesn't matter anymore, or maybe it will, I don't know. But I do have to know: do you choose racials over aesthetics? Is the difference significant enough that I should truly overlook aesthetics and choose what is optimal? This goes for any race/class combo.
