What to get from daily shop

I have 12 stars, I’m considering getting the thingy, is it any good? Is the Calliope and/or ferret (ferret really only for needle) any good for messing around in 5-6? What recommendations do yall have. Or should I just wait for the seemingly never releasing update EDIT: I mostly want something for 5-6 or 7-8 as my friend is currently stuck in 5-6 EDIT 2: I also prefer rat setups like ferret and thingy (they’re rats right?)
