Struggling with work/life balance.
Im looking for advice from dads in a similar situation as me.
I’ve got a great job, that I’m very good at and make 6 figures a year…. It’s all travel. 100% of it. I get home late afternoon Fridays and I’m back out the door at 4am Monday. Some weeks I have to work over the weekends. Sometimes I’m not home for 2 weeks.
It’s afforded my wife the ability to stay home with my 2yr old daughter and I’m not blind to how incredibly lucky we are. But it’s hard man. I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore. It sounds selfish but I’d almost rather my wife go back to work and I take a 30k pay cut to come home.
Does anyone else work out of town like this? Does it get any easier? How do you get over the “watching my kids grow up on FaceTime” feeling?
I completely understand these are first world issues and I probably sound like a massive douche complaining about this, but I’m legitimately at a point where I’d rather throw it all out and just be home.
