Should i text her ?

I’m (23M) in a conflict right now about whether i should text a friend of mine (21F) to go out on a date or not.

She and i were bestfriends a couple of years ago in our teens, i had strong emotions back then towards her and that messed up the whole thing ( although i told her i love her, we didn’t date, were so young for dating back then). I’m over her right now though.

We still keep in touch every couple of months, once tried to indirectly ask her out but she didn’t get it.

I’m hesitant about straight forward asking her out now. But also i don’t want to miss on the chance of a yes, you think there is any?
