Hypersensitive to Sugar

Has anyone noticed a hypersensitivity to sugar after theyi quit caffeine?

I typically eat a low carb, particularly low sugar, diet and quit caffeine over a week ago for context.

I had a long taper so the withdrawal symptoms have been pretty manageable outside of some irritability and anxiety. I had two days of insomnia earlier this week but it stopped on its own thankfully.

But last night I decided to indulge myself in a caffeine- and chocolate-free dessert and my sleep was totally disrupted. It took me forever to fall asleep, which hasn’t been a problem since I quit caffeine. I woke up in the middle of the night as well.

A similar thing happened the night before, but I didn’t eat dessert. Instead I did have two caffeine-free cocktails that have some sugar in them.

It feels like my body has become extra sensitive to sugar now that I’m off caffeine. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
