Why is it always on us?

I'm just venting here....

Why is it that anytime there's a delay or change in a project, completely unrelated to anything we've done, we are expected to pick up the slack?

I have a good customer who was waiting on a CNC machine to be delivered in early Nov. They had to make room for the new machine, and move a lot of their old stuff around. We talked over the new layout and I went as far as I could getting things prepped.

The Friday after Thanksgiving the machine gets delivered.

I stopped down there the following Monday and they changed the whole layout of things which now adds a bunch of extra work.

They blew past their schedule and I'm in the middle of other projects atm. I gave them a day this week and told them I might be able to get back there next week to finish up...fucks up my schedule, but i try to take care of them.

I had 2 different office people call me, pressing me to get there and asking when I'll be done, etc. WTF.

I called the owner after that and told him, you gotta wait. I wanted to have all of this done before Thanksgiving when I had time. I was waiting for the machine, and also then you guys go and change everything on me. I'm sorry, I'm in the middle of other projects, and it's not fair to my other customers to push them back for something thay wasn't my fault.

This is not exclusive to this particular job either. There's delays for a million different reasons, but there's never an excuse if I don't drop what I'm doing and get things finished that very minute.

Pisses me off!
