How can I pursue my passion in other ways
To put it plainly, there’s zero chance I can hold a medical. I considered sport pilot, but at this point I’ve thought about it and realized that it would be unsafe for me to be PIC at any point for the foreseeable future.
I’m 21 and i absolutely have fell in love with aviation over the past few years. I spend entire days at airports spotting and talking to pilots/other aviation crew, spend 95% of my time consuming aviation content including flight sims, and like to read the PHAK/POHs for fun. It’s the only thing I’ve ever came across in life that feels like I belong around it and need to be involved somehow.
Unfortunately I have a autoimmune disease with a hospitalization for a “stroke” (it was never agreed upon by different neurologists but nevertheless that’s what my record says, regardless it’s a issue related to my autoimmune disease and was disabling for a long while), I have diagnosed OCD and anxiety and have been prescribed meds in the past few years. For these reasons alone I don’t feel like it’d be safe and I’ll just get my fix of flying through flight sims I suppose, but no matter how much I try to mimic real life with it it’s not enough.
What can I do to contribute and chase my hobby? I don’t mind being the guy who sits at the airport looking at planes and talking to people but I wanna do more. Things like FBO work, AGI cert, etc. I’m gonna continue reading the PHAK and then the AFH just because I like it, but I’d love to be able to apply the knowledge I have and am learning.
