Delegate all transfer activity

Squad building is everyone's favorite part of the game, but I would argue that in 99% of the cases in real life, it's not really the manager's responsibility - the manager is more of a consulted party.

Hence the question: has anyone ever tried to play the game while delegating all transfer activity to the Director of Football? I wonder if it would lead to a realistic and enjoyable experience. Of course I imagine it would be super frustrating, but well, managers in real life are also frustrated by the transfer market.
